Ceilings are often forgotten in the design of a home. I think it is one of the best ways to add beautiful detail to your home. There are many different types of ceiling designs and here are some of my favorites.
This client wanted a dramatic ceiling with a barrel vault design. The coffered soffits bring down the ceiling on the sides of the room and add a warm cozy feel. The barrel vault is outlined in a faux finished marble that matches the marble on the fireplace. The raised stencil design in the center of the ceiling was designed to emulate an iron railing that curves around a balcony at the opposite side of the room from the fireplace. The wood in the room is cherry. and it gives the whole room a warm feeling.
In this ceiling we used a step soffit with crown molding and a cofferred design in the center. The chandelier adds beautiful shadows.
In this kitchen we designed the ceiling to emulate the shape of the two islands below. We also added four pretty pendant lights and cove lighting behind the crown molding.
