Custom home remodeling is a big undertaking, but it can be fun and rewarding.
I have worked with clients working on just one room or completely remodeling their entire home. All projects require proper planning. Below are some of the things to consider in planning your remodeling project.

Find the right team.
It takes a good team to make your project run smoothly and give you great results. Your two most important team members would be your interior designer and your contractor. These are the two people you will work with daily. It is a good idea to find a designer and a contractor who have worked together before. The best interior designers will know a quality contractor that will do a great job for you. You do not want to just go for the cheapest bid. This is where the interior design is a big help. They can help you pick the right companies. Also, a good contractor will have good subcontracts (painters, electricians, plumbers, structural engineers, carpenters, etc.).

I have seen people do it. They will look at options and pick the more expensive one and then say we might as well. The “might as wells” will put you 20% over your budget. I tell clients that if it is important to them, then upgrade it. If it is not that important, then don’t upgrade it. This is an area where an experienced interior designer can save you money with good advice.
3. Why should I hire an interior designer?
If you don’t do this for a living, you need a designer. You may have great taste, but if you want your project to run smoothly, make good selections, have the right space planning, avoid costly mistakes, and have someone to help you with big decisions, hire an experienced professional interior designer.
