Marsala which is described as a robust and earthy wine red has been chosen 2015 color of the year by global color authority Pantone. Pantone goes all over the world looking for color influences when researching the Color of the Year selection.  This includes the fashion and entertainment industries.

In 2014 Radiant Orchid was the captiviating color of the year.  Radiant orchid was said to increase creativity and innovation.  The color for 2015 Marsala enriches our mind, body and soul and exudes confidence and stability.

The tasteful hue of Marsala comes from the fortified wine of the same name.  It embodies the satisfying richness of a fulfilling meal, while its grounding red-brown roots emanate a sophisticated natural earthiness.

The color of Marsala also translates easily to fashion, beauty, industrial design, home furnishings and interiors.  It also provides a unifying element for interior spaces.  It will be seen on accent pieces, accessories and paint.  Marsala is also an ideal choice for rugs and upholstered living room furniture.

According to Pantone, the color Marsala is also ideal for use in graphic design and packaging.  It is an eyecatching color but is not overwhelming or bright.  It draws in consumers and is an alluring shade at point-of-purchase,
