14 May Media Room for the Sports Fan
The ultimate media room for a sports fan
If you love watching sports, why not make a dedicated room for watching local, college and pro sports. Keep up with your team while keeping an eye on other games. This would also be great if you are into Fantasy Sports. Set-up the room for great sound and comfortable seating. Usually there is a room in your house that does not get much use. Maybe a living room, a den or a bedroom would work for a media sports room. The CAD (computer aided design) photos below show a bedroom that I designed into a media room.
The 14′ x 12′ room is designed with room for 3-55″ TVs (that is a good way to keep up on all the action on the weekend), wine storage and sports memorabilia. The cabinet would be custom made to fit the needs of the client. This photo has wine storage and could also be used as a wine lounge. I added a coffered ceiling to add drama to the room. Above the theater seating would be a good place for sports memorabilia artwork. Maybe a stadium photo. I would use carpet in a room like this to help with acoustics. Power blackout shades would be a good choice to control the glare on a sunny day.
The floor plan above shows theater seating for 4 power recliners with cup holders and down cushions (shown below). The only problem with these recliners is it is hard to stay awake through the whole game.
