Unwind in a Resort Style Spa in the privacy of your home
Make a comfortable stress-free space to relax and unwind in your home. Turn an area in your home into a sanctuary with all the comforts of a resort style spa. Maybe remodel your bathroom and take some space from an adjoining guest room that you don’t use or maybe a walk out basement like in the CAD design below. You could just add some creature comforts to your master suite, like a sauna or convert your shower into a steam shower.
The CAD design above and below shows a complete home spa, with a large steam shower, air tub, sauna, fireplace, yoga area and seating. This creates an Immersive Experience by pulling you into an augmented reality that is engaging and satisfying.
How to make your home luxurious and comfortable.
Comfortable luxury living is not easy to achieve. You can”t just go to the furniture store and buy a bunch of poorly made brown over- stuffed leather recliners. Comfortable luxury living is more than perceived comfort. It is a way of life, a compete environment created to make you completely relaxed, pampered and with a feeling of quality. It is not just about items, it is about an environment where every detail flows together to create a sumptuous resort like feel that allows you to unwind and truly relax. This type of interior design may include luxurious fabrics, soft leathers, down pillows, colors that flow together and quality made furniture that will be comfortable for years.
In this room we changed a dining room into a comfortable luxurious place to gather with friends and family.
This way of life also involves the layout of home furnishings. Traffic flow through your home should flow nicely from room to room without feeling stress. You should not have to walk around poorly placed furniture, This is something I see in so many homes. People go to a furniture store and buy a grouping of furniture without a floor plan. In most cases it doesn’t fit right in their home. They end up with poor traffic flow and stress.
Comfort and luxury are not the same for everyone. That is why we ask so many questions when working with a client. Questions like:
- Do you like to curl up on a sofa or do you want your feet on the floor? This has to do with the depth of a sofa and the size of my client. Sofas can vary from 21″ inside depth to 25″ or more. Extra down pillows can also help control the depth.
- Where do you want to sit? Sofa, chair or recliner? This all goes back to the layout of the room.
- Who is going to be using the room?
- What is the room going to be used for? How do you want to feel in the room?
As you can see there is a lot that goes into planing this type of environment. Below are some photos that show comfort and luxury.
This beautiful sofa from Hickory White with it’s soft fabrics and down pillows gives you the feeling of luxury and comfort.
Recliners don’t have to be ugly.
This quilted leather sofa is comfortable and luxurious.
Creating a spa in your home is definitely Comfortable Luxury Living.
How to update your home from dark and dated to light and modern.
I am getting a lot of requests from people about how they can update their home furnishings and interior design in their home. There are a lot of homes that have dark gold/brown paint through their home. Their furniture is also dark and elaborate. Old World was the fad 15 years ago and now some people are tired of it. They tell me that they want to lighten up their homes and have a cleaner look.
Below are some CAD (computer aided design) photos of the same room. The before photo is what I see in a lot of homes. The after photo shows what can be done.

Find out how to turn little used rooms in your home into Comfortable Resort Style Living
Do you have rooms in your home that you seldom use? Maybe a dining room, a formal living room, an extra bedroom, a game room or even a basement?. Why not create a special sanctuary for yourself or your family?. Why not create a serene retreat where you could meditate or read a book?. A place free of TVs, cell phones and the fast pace of today’s life.
CAD (computer aided design) is a great way to to help clients visualize their space.
CAD is 3D Rendering that produces photo realistic images of a client’s room. We use computer aided design because it help our clients visualize their rooms. CAD is good in that it can give you a photo realistic idea of what the room will look like finished. Below are some photo realistic CAD photos of rooms that I have designed.
