There were many updated designs and new finishes. Contemporary and transitional case goods remained popular. There were Arts & Crafts inspired forms with geometric inflenced designs.
Upholstered beds are becoming more popular and are moving into the mainstream headboard market. The beds featured a variety of shapes and sizes, not to mention adornments such as hand tufting and nail head trim. Some of the headboards and footboards have nail head trim which adds additional interest to the design. Some of the upholstered beds have button-tufted headboards. Most of the nicer upholstered beds are made in the United States.
In a number of upholstery collections, the style mood was casual and comfortable denim-inspired fabrics showed up on sofas and sectionals along with weathered vintage-look leathers. There were also many colorful rugs to use under the furniture.
There were so many versatile seating options, such as poufs, benches, ottoman, footstools, hassocks and chairs. Hassocks were popular in several showrooms. They are a fully upholstered type of ottoman or foot rest. They came in many bright and colorful fabrics.
There were accent furniture pieces in metallic finishes as well in lively colors. The use of new materials and different shapes of the tables ranged from tree-shaped bases to antler and branch-shaped legs. Nature inspired themes were seen everywhere including artwork, sculptures, dining tables, chairs and end tables.
